Affinity Private Wealth (Affinity) has partnered with Ocean Culture Life (OCL) to fund several of OCL’s Storytelling Grants over the next 12 months; a unique initiative designed to bring to life powerful, untold stories of ocean conservation. Through these grants, Affinity is not just supporting storytellers but also championing vital efforts to preserve ocean ecosystems, amplify conservation projects, and inspire action for the health of our oceans.

The goal is to empower storytellers to spotlight the often-unseen efforts to protect and nurture our oceans. These grants go beyond financial support, providing a platform for grantees to connect with OCL’s global network of ocean advocates and conservationists. Together, we aim to bring visibility to remarkable projects that, despite their impact, might otherwise remain unseen.

Elizabeth Shaw, Trust Director at Affinity, will join a panel of renowned conservationists and professionals to shortlist storytelling grant applications. “We’re excited to work with OCL, a local yet global charity, whose values align closely with Affinity’s. The power of storytelling is vital in highlighting the often-unseen conservation efforts that are crucial to the health of our oceans. By supporting these stories, we aim to educate and inspire greater ocean stewardship. We look forward to working with OCL in the months to come.”

This partnership reflects Affinity and OCL’s shared belief in storytelling as a catalyst for change. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 14, OCL’s mission is to raise public awareness around the urgent need for marine conservation. Through photography, film, and immersive experiences, these grants showcase the work of ocean stewards and highlight the beauty and importance of our oceans.

OCL’s Storytelling Grants are now open for applications, inviting storytellers to submit their projects by January 1, 2025. Winners announced on January 31, 2025.

Together, we are on a mission to create a legacy of conservation, showing that when we give the ocean a voice, we give it the power to inspire, educate, and heal.
